Some people have mentioned nuking the beauty blender before cleaning for about 10-15 seconds in the microwave to kill bacteria. Given the concerns of mold or bacteria growing in the moist sponge as it dries, would you say that "nuking" it is really necessary?

I've seen many people use baby shampoo to clean there brushes. Is that ok to use?
Can you use Castille soap to clean brushes?
What about elf's brush shampoo? I find it cleans my brushes fine, but I'm wondering what you all think? It doesn't seem to have anything emollient or greasy in it.
