Shade name?
I think I’m olive skin. My coloring is very similar to JLO. Yellow and pale blues are my best colors. I’m so confused… I’m pretty sure I’m a warm spring.
Thank you for a video on olive skin. I was color analyzed in the 80's as a winter, but the cool foundations never worked. The neutral and warm were hideous. I finally found Patrick Ta olive and that is the best match I've ever had. It seems like the more "dead" it looks in the bottle the better it is for me. I do tend to look good in pink and purple blush. I think my undertone might be stronger than my overtone just a little.
Lucinda!!! Love your analogies!
I love that you’re discussing olive skin! I have olive skin and tan easily in summer then more fair/yellow/green in winter. I now have silver hair w/ amber/brown eyes which can have some makeup challenges. When moved from dark brown hair to silver, I needed to adjust my wardrobe too. Can’t wait to hear more about olives!!
Deep autumn still suits me best from available options. However, with getting older, some darker colours which look fine if I compare digitally cast an unflattering shadow. Too heavy.
My dominant characteristic was probably soft before puberty, looking at childhood photos. Changed to deep when darker pigmentation developed in puberty.
The soft palette is mostly too light. I think there is a missing palette between soft and deep which isn't as warm as warm autumn or true autumn.
My makeup needs to be slightly soft in medium to deep. Clothing better slightly soft.
Some colours if too bold, reflect strongly off my jaw. Including cyan.
My skin is super soft (too the touch) so not sure if that plays a part. My skin has been described as "radiant" but I am still not what you describe as "bright".
Do you know any make up brands that do a wide range of olive shades? I find it so hard to find my shade in makeup, I have deep tan olive skin and most brands are too orange or too ashy and neutral makes me look flat.
Great topic! I am a pale olive and always thought I leaned warm. A couple of years ago, in the Summer when I had a tan, I wore a bright, true orange top. It made my face color look yellow and sickly, like I had jaundice. I never wore bright orange again. Does this mean I am a neutral and not a deep autumn, like I always have thought?
I'm super fair with a parent and 2 grandparents who were med. olive. and have had analysts (virtual) say I'm SA and 1 in-person analyst say I'm LSu. DIY I can't figure if I'm warm or cool. Someone close with some seasonal color knowledge then asked me if I could be olive. Since my hair was very light brown (now grey) and I'm so fair, I thought that impossible, but it works perfectly with my definitely yellow overtone and ? undertone.
I am an olive skin tone. Warm foundations can look too orange but still pretty but cool look so pink and strange on me. I can’t do bright colors either they look foreign on me. My dark under eyes are more like a dark brown color.
The blush i use is Dior 100 Nude Look and it looks perfect on me. The lip liner i use is Mac whirl with Black honey blotted on top. It feels the most natural and harmonious on my skin too
My foundation shade is Pat Mcgrath 14 and Estée Lauder 3W1.5 Fawn for reference. Both meant to be “olive”

I’m a fair/light olive with slightly more yellow than blue and can wear all colors as long as they’re muted and not too pale or deep, so you’ve got it perfectly. I heard one high-profile YouTube color analyst say there’s no such thing as olive skin 🙄 totally insane.
You are both adorable!!! I love how you look at each other with so much love and care! 💕💕💕
Lucinda I love these frames on you!!
Would love to see olive toned celebrities please!!
For me wearing yellow is the worst. Thanks for the info. I am abut confused on what neutral blushes are or look like.
Hey. Could you please tackle this issue in the upcoming olive skin tone video?…I have black hair and olive skin. I'm a dark autumn but some of the shades make me tooo muddy. Does that mean I'm deep neutral??
Question – I’m olive and my eyes are ish – grey, green, blue ish – I feel olive and soft – but what “season” fits me? Am I a true neutral soft?
This is the best video I’ve ever seen on Olive skin – I’m olive and I’ve been mistyped many times – everything from autumn, summer, to bright spring. I always felt more neutral. More of these videos please!!!
Skin sandwhich here 🙋♀️lol love it!
I’ve been watching your channel since Wine About It Wednesdays during the pandemic. Thank you for sharing your detailed and nuance experience with color science.
As a med-dark summer (HOC typed) with olive skin, many blushes are cancelled on me, and neutral foundations seem to work best for me.
Have a great day!
I'm a Winter with very light olive skin. I lean cool, but there is a ring of yellow-green in my brown irises and it pulls me more warm in certain light.
