Hello lovelies,
I recently bought this incredible collection of vintage 1920s Cutex nail polish on eBay, and I had to share it with you. I have become fascinated with vintage nail polish, especially vintage nail colors, and how women painted their nails throughout history. After filming this video, I started doing some more research on Cutex and discovered that you can still buy a lot of these products today, which is so fascinating. Let me know if you are a fan of Cutex and if you have tried any of their products.

Omg I love ur stlye
You have a darling collection.
Love this!! I agree with your dating to the '20s. You certainly have good evidence for that!
How cool! I agree on the 20s dating, it screams 20s. Love, love, love!
How do you feel when you hold these products ?
What a lovely video again!
I am absolutely in love with everything!
The white polishing block might maybe be a buffer bc i heard about a 1950s Revlon powder polish in a video from Jessica Vill. I guess maybe the names got mixed over time. What we nowadays mostly call nailpolish (the colorful liquids) might have ben, and sometimes is still called nail varnish, and the nail polish from back in the day might have ben for buffing and prepping the nail for the liquid varnish?
Bc the powder certainly woulnt stick like a coat of liquid lacquer right?. The rubbing on the palm could be to remove dust etc from previous uses to get a fresh surface.
Just a theory, maybe I am totally wrong lol
Would be kind of interesting tho
Lots of love♡♡♡
I really wish you could get compensation for what you do. You put so much work into your videos I feel like you don't get enough back. I share your video's and like them but I wish there is more I could do. Do you have any tips what I could do to help ypu out more?
Sooooo interesting! Thanks for the way you show all sides of the box and linger on each page of the manuals. Satisfies my curiosity😁
I have a couple of cutex lipstick's, I love your collection.
Awesome video! I have one of the 5 minute set tins, mainly because I love the art deco woman on it. It was cool to see the 'nail white', I guess that would explain how the tips and half moons of the nails were kept so white during this era. I think that some of the powder polishes were used with those nail buffers that are always in vintage boudoir sets – I bought one from DuBarry purely because I didn't know what it was, and was so confused as to how the powder would become nail polish(it has a rollerball of all things!). It took so many hours of research to sort of figure out that this type of polish meant 'to polish', not necessarily as a covering. Back then I suppose this would have been obvious, but I couldn't wrap my modern mind around it, haha.
Love your videos, very informational! Keep up the great content! 😊
Really like your Videos Laura, they are so interesting. Thank you
Great find! I just had a quick look, and Cutex is still making products. Their logo says since 1911. I have absolutely no idea how they applied some of these products. Maybe if you email Cutex, they will help you out.
