How To Use a Beautyblender Sponge | Beauty How To

You’ve heard the hype over the Beautyblender sponge, but are you using it correctly? This egg-shaped sponge isn’t your ordinary makeup applicator, after all. You may be missing one crucial step to getting the most flawless, even foundation application out there (besides, of course, using an airbrush). On Kirbie: Rag & Bone vest.

This series in HOW TO APPLY FOUNDATION focuses on the sponge method. A lot of makeup artists think this method is out dated and prefer stippling brushes etc… i say – to each his own!

The “damp” (very important) sponge method is my favourite way to apply foundation. The looks so good – it blends easily – no flaking or micro-exfoliation and best of all – you can achieve sheer or full coverage.

You’ll also notice i changed the foundation colour from the previous one. I am using Makeup Atelier Paris waterproof foundation – which is a liquid and i love it! And i’m really not a fan of liquid foundations to be honest, i prefer creams. But this stuff gives amazing coverage and looks great.

I bought it myself – but you can get them from

Hope you enjoy and hopefully learn something.

Thank you for your time.

  1. What is when I don't have a beauty blender cleaner or any beauty blender tool hope someone understood that :)

  2. Not going to lie – I bought my (fake/dupe) beauty blender from home bargains in England for like 2 pounds – it works and looks exactly the same and I'm so glad I didn't spend so much money on the real thing sure it would be nice but it still works wonderfully

  3. Lol you don't have to buy one of the expensive ones from Sephora or Mac I got mine from the drugstore it's the Quo brand and it works just as well

  4. You can get a beauty blender for .49 free shipping from the website aliexpress sure it takes a couple weeks to get you but you could also get packs of 5 at a time for 5 bucks and they work just as great as the 30$ ones!

  5. ive tryed the beauty blender but it waters down your make up alot u can hardly see. i dont reccomend it if you like the cakey look or have hard to cover spots.

  6. I'm doing everything correctly, but even with a primer I still can't get that airbrushed finish. I've got big pores and even though I'm not using much foundation, it still always looks revolting and cakey.

  7. Can u buy the blending cleanser thing from Cosmetics Plus? (I'm from Australia 😝) Oh and do u have to soak it etc every single time u use it or just once…?

  8. I've just bought myself some new foundation sponges as I have very pale skin and wanted of to look flawless. Your video has given me some great tips and guidance and I'm exited to give it a go tomorrow.

I have a question for you. My skin make up is primer, foundation, highlighting under eye concealer and heavier coverage concealer for blemishes, then translucent loose powder to set. Should I use the concealer before or after I apply my foundation? I apply it after foundation and then set everything with power but I've never known which ESS around to do it. Thank you so much.

  12. Both the man and the women's teeth are horrible. It's true, British people have the worst teeth.

  13. I'm with this 200%. It is the gentle-ist way to apply makep. More control too. I use brushes some times as well, but by and large ive been using the wet wedge method since I was a kid. Also for some reason I prefer the latex kind which are becoming increasingly harder to find.

  14. Could someone please tell me how to apply underneath the eye on a 50 yr old with fine lines!! Just bought my first cream compact (liz arden Flawless Finish in 'vanilla') I have been using a damp sponge, but find it sinks right into my fine lines under my eyes. Ant advice would be welcome….thanks :-)
